Tory Poster Blunder

The Tory election campaign is off to a farcical beginning. A poster of a road disappearing into the horizon has already been dubbed across social media as a road to nowhere. It could also be a road without end. Worse the claim on it that the deficit has been halved is simply untrue. It can only become true if you change the definition from hard money to percentages of GDP. The fact is that when the Tory led coalition came to power in the wake of the crash in 2010, the annual deficit was running at approximately £150 billion. Now it is about £90 billion. There is no way  90 can become half 150 unless you fiddle the figures. What a dreadful start.

No wonder voters do not trust politicians.
