Without wishing to be mean (well just a little) and to cast a teeny shadow over the celebrations (actually quite a big one) I have had a look at the figures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Conservatives achieved 36.9% of the votes cast. The turnover in the UK was 66.1%. Follow the maths and that means the Conservatives managed to get no more than 24% of the votes of those eligible to take part.\u00a0Under a quarter of the population voted for them preferring either to vote for some other party or not to vote at all.
