2 \u00a0Are you going to borrow to invest and if so what is your target over what period?<\/p>\n
3 \u00a0How are you going to rebalance the economy away from financial services?<\/p>\n
4 \u00a0How are you going to increase manufacturing and exports?<\/p>\n
5 \u00a0How are you going to reduce imports and repatriate jobs?<\/p>\n
6 \u00a0How are you going to reduce\u00a0the income gap?<\/p>\n
7 \u00a0What are you going to do about the low level of productivity in the UK?<\/p>\n
8 \u00a0What are you going to do to increase the revenue stream from taxation to the level needed to pay the running costs of the country?<\/p>\n
9 \u00a0What\u00a0kind of taxation reform do you plan to a complicated and\u00a0expensive system?<\/p>\n
10 \u00a0How are you going to increase the housing supply to make housing more affordable?<\/p>\n
It is all very well to obsess about the deficit, but it is no good failing to tackle the reasons why it is there. Deal with these ten questions properly and the deficit will take care of itself.<\/p>\n
